Principal/ Medical Products and Services Pricing & Contracting (San Francisco area, CA)

PRINCIPAL/ Medical Products and Services Pricing & Contracting

The person in this role will be responsible for driving business within medtech space; responsible for expanding our pricing and contracting strategy capability within the Medical Products & Services Practice (MPS). The person in this role will work within the medical technology industry to evolve our offerings and increase our penetration in the marketing space.


  • Driving business and strategy development with our MPS clients on the impact of providers (Hospitals, ASC, clinics), GPOs and IDN Pricing and Contracting strategies and operations on their US business
  • Directing multiple projects simultaneously, honing analytic and project management skills
  • Developing tools and approaches to assist client in improvement of price and contract management
  • Consistently deliver quality client services and drive high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget.
  • Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes
  • Motivating, coaching and serving as a role model for project team members
  • Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment.
  • Providing thought leadership and innovation within projects and specifically within the Pricing and Contracting space within MPS
  • Playing a key role in development of capabilities and offerings in the practice
  • Stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business
  • Demonstrate ability to quickly assimilate new knowledge
  • Possess in depth business acumen


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required with a strong academic record in business, economics, marketing, psychology, physical or life sciences, engineering, applied math, statistics or related fields.
  • MBA or advanced degree highly desirable
  • 10+ years of experience pricing and contracting for medical products and services
  • 5+ years of Consulting experience
  • Demonstrated experience with driving revenue within existing clients and in developing new prospects at Medical Device companies. 
  • Characteristics of a forward thinker and self-starter that thrives on new challenges and adapts quickly to learning new knowledge
  • Ability to lead a virtual team of consulting professionals across multiple projects 
  • A high level of motivation and self-starting attitude
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A strong work ethic
  • A willingness to travel to meet client needs
  • Executive-level presence and communication


ZS is a global consulting firm; fluency in English is required, additional fluency in at least one European or Asian language is desirable.
