Associate Principal/Healthcare Ecosystems (Princeton, NJ)

We have an opening at the Principal level to drive growth and develop our Healthcare Ecosystems practice.


Healthcare delivery is evolving with organized customer (integrated delivery networks (IDNs) and payers) influence increasing to drive better patient outcomes at lower cost.  The fee for service and physician-centric model of the past is giving way to a value based and organized-customer centric model. At ZS, solving for this problem is part of the Healthcare Ecosystem space. This expert would understand these organized customers and healthcare evolution and identify systematic ways to segment and value such customers, help pharmaceutical companies develop their value propositions, and go to market models for thriving in this new health care ecosystem.


  • Drive business and develop new offerings within the Ecosystem solution Area (combination of IDNs, payers, patients and physicians)
  • Serve as an internal SME for client teams in business development efforts
  • Promote ZS’ space expertise externally through conferences, white papers, etc.
  • Manage projects and client relationships
  • Direct multiple projects simultaneously, honing analytic and project management skills
  • Motivate, coach and serve as a role model for project team members
  • Provide thought leadership and innovation within projects and across practice areas


  • Bachelor’s degree, with MBA degree strongly preferred, from strong academic program, although additional relevant work experience may substitute
  • 9+ years of consulting/industry experience
  • 2+ years' experience with complex payer and provider healthcare environments/ Integrated Delivery Networks  
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain and grow client relationships
  • Deep knowledge of the provider healthcare market
  • Deep knowledge about future care delivery models including: Accountable Care Organizations and Patient Centered Medical Homes
  • Knowledge about healthcare regulatory reporting and compliance is helpful
  • Executive level presence

ZS is a global consulting firm; fluency in English is required, additional fluency in at least one European or Asian language is desirable.
