Experience Designer (New York, NY)

Creative & Design was created to enrich and evolve our consulting approaches and offerings. Our clients look to us to design and create engaging experiences for a broad range of B2B or B2C customers including healthcare providers, physicians and patients. In the C&D Studio we use our deep understanding of the overall ecosystem and individual stakeholders to design meaningful interactions and desirable outcomes for customers, while delivering better performance for our clients. C&D is comprised of a diverse team of talented individuals who are on a mission to address the evolving needs of our clients using a human-centered design approach. The C&D team has three areas of focus: Design, Strategic Planning and Creative Expression. As a Senior Experience Designer, you’ll be collaborating with various members of the two other teams, as well as a broader team of consultants.

 

EXPERIENCE DESIGNER

We seek an Experience Designer in our New York, NY office to work with our clients to deliver compelling customer experiences that impact all stakeholders within the healthcare ecosystem. If you are passionate about working at the intersection of strategy, design, and research to deliver meaningful innovation through human-centered design practices, and seek to contribute to a new and rapidly-growing expert team, then we want to speak with you.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of new products, services, and brand experiences that solve customer problems, increase brand value, and inspire people
  • Help create best-in-class Experience Design / UCD deliverables, including experience maps, customer journeys, customer insights, service blueprints, and brand touchpoints
  • Coordinate with team members and leadership to prepare and facilitate workshops
  • Partner and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams
  • Contribute to synthesizing qualitative data and best practices to inform design decisions
  • Draft research materials, concept models, sketches, and detailed schematics through cycles of rapid iteration to prototype experiences across mediums and realize a final solution
  • Assist Experience Design Leads on work with clients and colleagues in the Business Consulting group
  • Serve as an active member of the C&D practice.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MA, MFA, MS, or dual MFA/MBA degree in user experience (UX) design, transdisciplinary design, multimedia, interaction design, human-computer interaction, psychology, sociology, anthropology, graphic design, or a related discipline focused in social science and design communication, with a demonstrated record of academic success;
  • In the absence of a graduate degree, 1-3 years of work experience;
  • Experience with the human / user-centered design (HCD / UCD) process preferred;
  • Portfolio showcasing evidence of relevant project work;
  • Exposure to design research techniques such as ethnography, contextual inquiry, user interviews and the incorporation of secondary research into convergent thinking;
  • Comprehension of product prototyping and testing, future visioning, and strategy development;
  • Highly motivated, well-organized, team-player;
  • Extremely curious —energized by learning, exploring and innovating;
  • Healthcare interest and experience is a plus.
