Senior Product Marketing Associate (Evanston, IL)

We seek a Senior Product Marketing Associate to join our Headquarters group in our Evanston, IL office. Reporting to the Operations and Technology Marketing Manager, the Senior Product Marketing Associate will help to develop and drive a marketing strategy for ZS’s software product portfolio.

The Product Marketing function is a valuable business partner and advisor to ZS product leaders, using knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and technology space to bring our products to the market in a compelling manner and help generate pipeline.  This is a hands-on role that requires significant collaboration, coordination and planning as well as individual contribution to large scale projects and tactical activities.


  • Work with manager to develop a marketing strategy incorporating high impact marketing activities such as sales enablement, market awareness, account-based marketing, customer references, thought leadership and more
  • Drive demand/pipeline and ongoing product usage
  • Define product positioning and underlying messages, ensuring customers and internal sales teams understand product value and differentiation
  • Distill key functionality and benefits into unique value propositions used across a variety of marketing and sales channels
  • Develop collateral and sales tools that support selling efforts including product videos, short articles, presentations, product demos, case studies, playbooks and conferences
  • Design and execute lead generation campaigns which may include digital and social selling, e-mail, events, search, etc.
  • Perform market research and competitive analysis to develop a competitive strategy and supporting messages that can act as meaningful content for stake holders (sales team)
  • Report outcomes to senior leaders, demonstrating impact of marketing activities and offering clear recommendations for future improvements
  • Assist in budget development to execute against the established marketing plan
  • Support efforts for industry events and ZS conferences


  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a technology discipline,
  • 3-6 years of product marketing experience, ideally in enterprise software products. Pragmatic Marketing certification valued
  • Experience developing and managing plans, budgets and deadlines as well as achieving and evaluating results
  • Demonstrated experience translating value propositions into creative and unique sales materials, including brochures, web copy, thought leadership, presentations and sales primers.
  • Possess a sense of urgency, decisiveness and ability to deliver results under pressure; as well as willingness to shift priorities as needed
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills – both verbal and written, including experience presenting to and influencing senior executives in a highly matrixed, fast-paced environment
  • Strong international collaboration skills. Ability to think ahead and leverage time with global colleagues effectively so that individual work achieves maximum impact.
  • Must be a self-starter, strategic thinker and creative problem solver with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent project planning and management skills which include the ability to analyze and track results
  • Requires an ability to sell new ideas, gain consensus and drive critical decision making efficiently
  • Travel up to 10%
