Portfolio Marketing Manager (Evanston, IL)

PORTFOLIO MARKETING MANAGER

We are seeking a B2B marketing rockstar with 8-10 years of professional services or agency experience, a campaign marketing mindset and killer stakeholder management skills. This role will help drive the growth and recognition of practices at a ‘best kept secret’ professional services firm.

The ZS portfolio marketing manager is responsible for defining, leading, and executing product/service marketing initiatives for the firm and across its key practice areas. The manager is the hands-on strategic partner with practice area leaders and other SMEs in driving revenue through marketing strategy.

Responsibilities:                                                   

As a marketing manager on the portfolio team you will be expected to:

  • Partner with the business and marketing teams to develop marketing strategy and define marketing activities that will maximize awareness, develop client relationships, build pipeline and increase market share;
  • Translate business goals into marketing strategies and lead the development of data-driven integrated omni-channel marketing plans;
  • Build relationships with, and manage a diverse group of stakeholders across a complex landscape on an ongoing basis;
  • Balance differing perspectives and priorities across the business to drive alignment and champion a one-firm mentality;
  • Act as a subject matter advisor to the business to influence how the practice engages the marketplace to drive relevance, distinctiveness and growth;
  • Lead the creation of campaign plans and the development of assets, personas and customer journeys for activation across the full marketing funnel;
  • Lead the development of channel strategies and marketing tactics across a wide variety of functional areas of the marketing mix including: brand, digital and social marketing, public relations, analyst relations, collateral, thought leadership, sales tools and events;
  • Possess expertise in modern marketing and sales capabilities including automation principles and content marketing, ideally in a B2B or services context;
  • Leverage data to evaluate the impact of marketing activities (at the strategy and campaign level) to influence the focus and direction of future marketing campaign strategies;
  • Support sales enablement plans and tactics and oversee marketing contributions to drive sales’ adoption of the portfolio.

Qualifications: 

  • BA or BS required; MBA a plus
  • Eight or more years of B2B professional services marketing experience in a functional, industry or product role
  • Experience working in entrepreneurial-driven, matrixed organizations and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities
  • Mastery of the art of influence and the ability to use it to deliver integrated, multi-practice, go-to-market programs
  • The ability to craft key messaging and provide clear and compelling positioning of services, products or industry expertise
  • Persona development and buyer’s journey mapping skills and know how to use both tools to drive go-to-market plans
  • Experience working on and managed a diverse and distributed marketing team; global is a plus
  • The ability to make complicated concepts interesting and digestible for an external market
  • High emotional intelligence and a collaborative people management style
  • Critical thinking and the capacity for innovative and original thought
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
