Finance Analyst/Rotational Program

Finance is responsible for all ZS financial matters, including financial planning, analysis, reporting, accounts receivable, general ledger and tax.


We seek talented financial professionals to join our office in Evanston, IL. These entry-level positions provide new or recent graduates with an excellent foundation in financial management, mathematical and statistical modeling, and technical tool creation within a multi-office business environment. These roles have the potential to offer significant career development and interaction with senior managers, including our CFO, CHRO, and office/regional leads.

Analysts are part of rotational program and will spend a period of time inside different functions of finance.  All positions are located within in the Evanston office. After completing all rotations, analysts will be placed in an appropriate role below based on skillset, ZS needs, and analyst preference.


  • Create monthly, quarterly and annual reports calculating profitability, utilization and efficiency of firm resources;
  • Forecast revenue/profit for ZS industries, practice areas, and markets;
  • Determine cost of operations by establishing standard costs, collecting operational data;
  • Identify financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts;
  • Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying    proposed changes in methods and materials;
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis support;
  • Assist the CFM lead in supporting internal Client Teams and Client Service Lead (CSL);
  • Support large “in-flight” client projects, provide reporting & analysis on financial status and outlook;
  • Manage Revenue recognition, completion estimates, write-offs and margins;
  • Ensure project financial transactions including billings and collections are maintained in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconcile accounts on a monthly basis;
  • Answer accounting and general finance questions by researching and interpreting data, including during month end close;
  • Complete miscellaneous tax and treasury-related projects;
  • Test and provide support of new and existing systems;
  • Maintain our internal and firm-wide web pages, training materials and business support documents;
  • Assist in ad hoc projects related to new system implementations.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field, master’s degree welcomed;
  • Up to 2 years of relevant experience;
  • Strong software skills using MS Excel/VBA/macros and MS Access;
  • Demonstrated quantitative, data analysis and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and multitask;
  • Curiosity for how a business performs and can improve;
  • Motivation, personal initiative and strong team skills.


ZS is a global consulting firm; fluency in English is required, additional fluency in at least one European or Asian language is desirable.
