Event Marketing Lead (Evanston, IL)

The Marketing and Communications team helps build the ZS brand, champion thought leadership, support business development and engage our past, present and future workforce. 

MARKETING EVENTS LEAD

We are looking for a Marketing Events Lead to join our marketing & communications team in our Evanston, IL office, reporting to the Head of Event Marketing. The primary focus of this role is to manage the strategy and coordination of digital events, which include both ZS-produced and externally-sponsored speaking engagements and events.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the digital event strategy for live, recorded and on demand events. Create and maintain an on-going twelve-month calendar of digital events that targets key buying centers and aligns with marketing strategy & campaigns.
  • Manage events from ideation to post-event analysis. Establish yourself as the event expert with ZS marketing and business stakeholders.
  • Build and own effective project plans, conduct regular touch bases with key stakeholders and escalate risks appropriately to ensure each event achieves established KPIs.
  • Partner closely with SMEs and the portfolio marketing team to ensure content strategy aligns with digital event best practices.
  • Work with portfolio marketing to create promotional event messaging: emails, landing pages, internal communications and paid promotions, etc. to achieve event goals.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams (content, design, web, and demand generation) to ensure objectives are met.
  • Create Cvent website and manage the entire registration process. 
  • Manage and negotiate event contracts. Track and reconciliate budget. 
  • Write, manage and submit presenter biographies, presentation summaries, about-ZS copy and other website materials related to events
  • Lead, speaker preparations, live event recordings, and event moderation activities.
  • Run all event testing and quality control procedures before and during the events.
  • Deliver post event reports with data-driven analysis including attendee feedback, goal attainment, and recommendations for future event improvements
  • Build processes for repeatability and scalability of digital event activities.
  • Push status quo to deliver new ideas and creative approaches to constantly improve the customer experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academics
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience planning and managing B2B marketing events (i.e. conferences, trade shows, podcast, webinars, roundtables)
  • Experience creating new, virtual event programs from the ground up
  • Proven experience leveraging digital event best practices and metrics that create successful events
  • Solid understanding of technical options for remote broadcasting
  • Experience delivering virtual events across time zones and geographies
  • Experience with online platforms, e.g. Zoom Webinar, CVENT
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
  • Strong project management skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; self-motivation and independence
  • Effective when working in a collaborative environment and successful developing strong working relationships
  • Excellent marketing writing, communication skills and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage simultaneous projects and meet deadlines
  • Experience working with senior business leaders and managing multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, post-COVID
  • CMP preferred
