Director of Product Management- Data Products & Assets (Princeton, NJ)

The Strategy & Architecture team advises clients in diverse areas of strategy development and tactical implementation to help increase the value and effectiveness of their technology investments.

Director of Product Management- Data Products & Assets

Director of Product Management will be responsible for the strategy and the implementation of ZS Data Products, Assets and Solutions. They will enhance our existing Data Products (Access Monitor and Affinity Monitor), as well as define the next generation of data products and assets. This person will create and maintain data roadmap, interlinked with the appropriate software roadmaps that would enable data collection and utilization.

They will work with our software product teams to understand the data they produce and leverage and establish the data collection and usage strategy. They will also help the current software teams to define data-driven vision, use cases and required architecture to harvest and leverage all available data from their operations. They will also collaborate with our Data Partnership function, to establish appropriate data partnerships with other 3rd party data providers. Finally, they will work closely with the corresponding practice area leaders, solution leaders, and leaders in the Software Development group and with our clients directly. 

This is a senior position and will require this person to develop and grow their product managers and business analysts. The leader must be a strategic thinker as well as able to ensure tactical execution is both timely and of consistent high quality.

Our software products and solutions include Javelin product suite targeted for use by Commercial Sales Operations organizations in effectively planning and deploying their sales force. This Javelin product suite includes functionality for designing optimal sales territories, ongoing alignment changes, targeting accounts, and activity/call planning of individual sales reps. Another product is Verso, supporting Customer-centric Marketing Solution that harnesses the power of big data to optimize the use of marketing campaigns, digital media and in-person sales rep meetings. These software products and solutions data will be the foundation for the data products this person will lead.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the definition and strategy of Data Products and Assets (Access Monitor, Affinity Monitor) as well define new data products as needed by the market and our software
  • Analyze the marketplace, gather inputs from clients and assess competitors to determine the right new products or future direction of existing data products  
  • Be an enabler to envision and conceptualize new products and clearly discuss and communicate product vision, value and benefits of each product line
  • Partner with Software Engineering to identify product scope and evaluate data collection and usage opportunities and architecture
  • Develop a strong product management team by hiring people with the right skills and developing them within a well-defined career progression model
  • Develop and implement roadmap priorities, balancing between the needs of overall product and specific demands from key customers
  • Support product sales and utilization by meeting with both prospective and existing clients, as well as via internal and external marketing campaigns
  • Be the evangelist of the assets both internally & externally to ensure right positioning and adoption

Qualifications & Additional skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a technology discipline
  • 7+ years of Software Product Management experience, 3+ years of successfully leading product management teams
  • Experience with managing data products and assets is required, experience in conceptualizing and launching new data products is highly desired
  • Well versed with the data ecosystem, including pipeline management, data curation, operations, DQM, MDM, etc. Past experience monetizing and commercializing data assets and products will be preferred.
  • Experience and good knowledge of healthcare data: Rx, Claims, EMR, digital connected health, omnichannel/digital marketing. Experience with data partnerships, consent management, HIPAA/PHI, GDPR and other privacy and security frameworks. Experience with healthcare data interoperability standards.
  • Experience with development of Enterprise B2B SaaS solutions
  • Strong leadership: excellent team management, coaching and mentoring skills; superior planning, process and influencing skills.
  • Good presentation and communication skills (both verbal and written) including experience and level of comfort presenting concepts to senior executives
  • Strong cross-discipline skills to design solutions with software engineers and architects, data scientists, and healthcare consultants, as well as clients and data partners
  • Demonstrated ability to be an effective change management leader for their direct reports
  • Demonstrated success in product definition, including target customer, core value proposition, core features and business model
  • At least 2 years of experience at working at a healthcare data company (e.g. Symphony, Definitive, IQVIA, DRG, OptumRx, Truven, etc)
  • Some experience at a top tier consulting company (e.g. Accenture, BCG, etc.) is a plus
  • A diversity of experience having worked at companies of different sizes and different industries
  • MBA degree from a Tier 1 university
