Alliance Marketing Manager (Evanston, IL)

We seek an Alliance Marketing Manager to join our Marketing & Communications Team in our Evanston, Illinois office. Reporting to the Associate Director of Integrated Marketing, the Alliance Marketing Manager will build the ZS alliance marketing function and be responsible for driving mindshare and marketshare across key technology alliance partners. Working collaboratively in a matrix environment with the ZS alliance team, marketing & communications team, client service teams and alliance partners you will create and execute innovative and strategic programs that increase awareness, generate partner leads, strengthen customer and partner relationships, and build pipeline and sales opportunities. This role requires strong initiative and drive along with understanding of marketing and business fundamentals.


  • Own, create, and execute, alliance marketing plans with key alliance partners;
  • Be the single point of contact for marketing internally and with alliance partners -- develop, manage and execute engagement plans with key partner contacts;
  • Work with partners to deliver high-quality marketing activities that drive targeted demand creation, and work with the ZS marketing & communications team to align the alliance marketing programs with broad ZS marketing initiatives;
  • Develop ZS collateral, thought leadership and sales enablement materials to support pipeline creation/acceleration;
  • Actively seek and create joint customer success stories to showcase best practices and demonstrate strong partner relationships;
  • Drive awareness and enablement programs that inform partners of the latest campaigns, solution offerings, partner wins and tools that ZS is creating to help them grow their businesses;
  • Measure and assess the effectiveness of partner marketing programs and activities, and report on outcomes and program effectiveness to business leaders;
  • Build internal awareness of alliance partner programs, value and results aligned with strategic business goals;
  • Develop and manage partner engagement activities (e.g. partner events, to-partner communications, partner briefings);
  • Support partner event sponsorship planning, communication outreach and follow up campaigns around key partner events.


  • Bachelor's degree in business discipline, marketing preferred; MBA a plus;
  • 10+ years of experience in high tech industry with 5+ years direct experience in Alliances Marketing;
  • Highly motivated marketer with a passion for alliance partner strategies with demonstrated ability to execute partner marketing campaigns and/or programs;
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with ability to blend technology and business strategy to develop a compelling, creative and impactful marketing programs;
  • Experience overseeing a complex marketing budget and financial analysis;
  • Demonstrated success influencing C-level executives and cross-functional leaders;
  • Ability to navigate culture and politics across multiple functions to establish buy-in for go-to-market strategy;
  • People management, including the ability to build and grow a team and work with diverse skill sets and backgrounds;
  • Experience developing partner enablement tools and content;
  • Experience with enterprise technology platforms and products;
  • Experience working with marketing technology tools and platforms: CRM (i.e. (salesforce.com), marketing automation platforms (i.e. Marketo, Cvent) and project management tolls (i.e. Workfront)
  • Demonstrated skills in marketing analytics, measurements and dashboards and ability to translate quantitative data into actionable recommendations;
  • Experience with content strategy (buyers’ journey) and developing thought leadership;
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills; ability to take initiative and juggle several projects at the same time to meet tight deadlines;
  • International collaboration skills preferred, including working with India. Ability to think ahead and leverage time with global colleagues effectively so that individual work achieves maximum impact;
  • Travel approximately 20%, including ability to travel internationally;
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate early morning calls with colleagues in India or evening calls with west coast colleagues, as needed
  • Must be a self-starter that is able to learn quickly and independently; consulting experience a plus.


ZS is a global consulting firm; fluency in English is required, additional fluency in at least one European or Asian language is desirable.
