Strategy Insights & Planning Associate Consultant/Configuration Consultant (Chicago, IL)

We are seeking a Strategy Insights & Planning Associate Consultant (SIPAC) to join our Partner Software space that delivers solutions to our clients leveraging third-party, non-ZS technology. Serving as the interface between the client, ZS team, and the technology, the SIPAC ensures that client requirements are understood, that the solution is designed and architected to deliver on those requirements with the flexibility to accommodate future changes, and that the ZS team is configuring a high-quality solution while developing the necessary technical, process, and interpersonal skills for longer term success.



  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with the client to understand their needs and use cases that the technology will support;
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in current processes to enable quicker turnaround or higher quality;
  • Document and review requirements with client and ZS team for completeness and accuracy;
  • Architect the future state solution, considering any trade-offs between system flexibility, accuracy and efficiency;
  • Lead and participate in the implementation of the technology solution;
  • Create and oversee the creation by others of meeting materials and documentation, including status updates and operational guidelines;
  • Lead scrum and project management meetings with both client and internal ZS team to track progress of implementation;
  • Work with ZS management team to address and correct any staffing concerns;
  • Collaborate with client to develop testing plan;
  • Ensure successful system testing internal to ZS before transitioning testing activities to client;
  • Track and monitor issues or bugs with configuration and develop resolution strategies;
  • Support the client user acceptance testing (UAT), generally onsite for 1-2 weeks to enable rapid resolution to identified issue.



  • Bachelor's or master's degree required in any discipline with strong academic performance in analytic and quantitative coursework (business, economics, marketing, psychology, physical or life sciences, engineering, applied mathematics, statistics or relevant fields);
  • Minimum of 3 years of software configuration experience, particularly in an application specific to ZS service and partnerships (e.g. Xactly, IBM ICM, Anaplan, PROS, etc.);
  • Minimum of 1 year of solution design expertise in developing solutions with high autonomy
  • High motivation, good work ethic, maturity and personal initiative;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Empathy, adaptability and high personal impact;
  • Close attention to detail, with a quality-focused mindset;
  • Self-discipline for planning and organizing tasks;
  • Aptitude for, and enjoyment of, team leadership;
  • Demonstrated history of supporting both new/inexperienced team members and junior team members with high technical aptitude.



ZS is a global consulting firm; fluency in English is required, additional fluency in at least one European or Asian language is desirable.
