Decision Analytics Consultant/Research & Development Excellence (Boston, MA)

ZS’ R&D Excellence Practice brings together experts in Strategy, Execution, Data Sciences and Technology to empower client organizations achieve their passion for patient care, science and business success. Through our “Lifecycle Evidence Strategy”, “Clinical Trial Optimization”, “Medical Affairs” and “Real World Evidence” services, we deliver impact where it matters, from early drug development to commercialization. This role will be aligned with ZS R&D Excellence Practice Area in tight collaboration with our business technology practices to deliver data driven decision support and associated systems. This is a key client facing role, working closely with client business leaders to help them solve complex business problems, conduct industry evaluations and benchmarking and draft best practices, strategic guidelines for translational and RWE functions.

 

DECISION ANALYTICS CONSULTANT (Research & Development/Clinical)

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage knowledge of Life Sciences R&D organizations, data and systems, business processes and stakeholder types to aid analyses and recommendations for strategic solution offerings. Apply advanced analytics and data management knowledge on clinical and RWE data sources to provide insights.
  • Help R&D clients assess their data and technology landscapes, explore and evaluate new data sources, technologies and enable clients to consume and generate value from these.
  • Lead design thinking, scientific and innovative statistical approaches to input to various clinical decision and evidence generation needs.
  • Develop R&D data strategy, governance models and help clients with implementation of these.
  • Conduct statistical analysis of data, architect data engineering processes/workflows. Design and implement exploratory analytics dashboards working closely with our technology practice.
  • Gain deep understanding of the science and mechanism of action of client portfolios, stay abreast on scientific literature and developments in the R&D space.
  • Coach the cross-functional project team on the business perspective and data domain to inform key project decisions.
  • Coach and mentor teams, conduct & develop training programs to contribute to capability building and knowledge sharing

 

Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of Pharma R&D experience with strong domain and subject matter knowledge.
  • Academic training in a quantitative field with experience in scientific R&D.
  • Strong data science and data engineering skills and knowledge and familiarity with various life sciences data domains, standards and ontologies.
  • Programming experience in R and Python, experience with ML and statistical learning packages, Rshiny and similar dashboarding experience.

 

Additional skills:

  • Deep understanding of data management best practices and data analytics
  • Up to speed with latest technologies in big data, reporting, data warehousing, and data management with Clinical and R&D specifically
  • Deep understanding of client business concerns to lead translation into technical and/or analytical inputs
  • Proven relationship-building and maintaining skills with clients and across functional areas
  • Superior verbal and written communication, organization, analytic, planning and leadership skills
  • Ability to distill complex concepts into easy-to-understand frameworks and presentations
  • Willingness to travel to other global offices as needed to work with client or other internal project teams.
  • Help with the selling process including writing proposals and giving product demos;
